Frequently Asked Questions

Below, you’ll find answers to common questions about our dice, process, orders, shipping, and more. If you don’t find what you’re looking for, feel free to reach out via our Contact Us page.

Dice Quality & Craftsmanship

Are your dice balanced?

Yes! All of our dice are balanced for casual tabletop play. Every set is also carefully inspected before being sold — if we wouldn’t use them in our own games, we won’t sell them.

Please note: Like most handmade (and even factory-made) dice, our sets are not precision-balanced for high-stakes casino or tournament play, and would not be suitable for such use.

What are your dice made of?

Our dice are handcrafted from crystal-clear, ultra-gloss, UV-resistant epoxy resin, with a Shore D hardness of 75–80 — about as hard as a construction helmet. This ensures a durable, long-lasting finish and a satisfying "clack" when the dice are rolled.

For select designs, we also incorporate high-grade UV resin to achieve unique stylistic effects.

How do you color your dice?

We use premium quality colorants, such as mica powders, resin dyes, alcohol inks, pigment pastes, effect powders, glitters, foils, and custom inclusions.

And since every die is hand-poured, no two are exactly alike — even when using the same color recipe.

How are your dice numbered?

We hand-paint each number using premier acrylic paints, often custom-mixed for the perfect color hue. Some sets also feature matte or glittery finishes, iridescent or metallic tones, and multi-color fades or gradient effects.
All of this is done carefully by hand to match the design’s aesthetic.

Appearance & Variations

Will my dice look different from the product photos?

Yes, some variation in product appearances should be expected.
We photograph all our dice using a neutral, well-lit lightbox setup to ensure color accuracy. However, due to differences in screen settings and lighting environments (like daylight vs. fluorescent), the colors may look slightly different in person.
Also, since every set is handcrafted and product photos are often taken of an "example" set in that color style rather than the exact set you may receive, differences in glitter placement, color blending, or foil distribution are normal — and part of what makes each set one of a kind.

Do resin dice change in appearance over time?

All epoxy resin does have the potential to yellow over time due to oxidation and UV exposure.
That said, we use one of the highest-performing resins available — tested over 6+ months for yellowing resistance and pigment retention. Our chosen resin consistently outperformed others in our tests.
Dyes and pigments within dice can also shift in appearance over time, and improper dice storage or handling can affect shine or dice durability. To learn how to take proper care of your dice and ensure they last a long time, read our full care guide.

Dice Types & Customization

Do you sell uninked dice?

Most dice we sell in our online store are fully inked, but we can provide uninked dice upon request.
To request that we offer an uninked set in a particular style, you can Request A Dice Commission or Suggest A Dice Style using our online forms.

Do you make custom dice or take commissions?

Custom dice commissions are coming soon!
While we’re still in the setup phase and not yet accepting active commissions, you can submit an early request to join our interest list and secure your spot on our waitlist.
Note: Submitting a request does not guarantee acceptance, but it lets us know you're interested and ensures you're among the first we contact when commissions do officially open.

Do you sell single dice (like extra d6s or d10s)?

From time to time, we do have extra single dice available in specific styles—and we can also create custom singles from scratch just for you.

If you're interested in seeing what's available, you can visit us at conventions to browse our current selection, contact us directly to ask what singles we currently have on hand, or submit a request for custom commissioned singles through our online form.

We’d love to help you find or create the perfect piece to complete your set!

Restocks & Sold-Out Designs

Will you restock certain designs?

Whenever we release a new dice style or color, it is usually a limited run design.
However, if several people ask us to bring that design back to the shop, we may restock it or create a new dice style with a similar aesthetic — but restocks aren’t guaranteed.
You can use our Suggest a Style Form to let us know what you'd love to see again.

I missed a design — will it return?

Possibly! While there’s no guarantee, your interest helps us decide which styles to bring back or reimagine. Let us know using our Concept Suggestions Form.

Our Process & Dice Designs

How do we create unique dice shapes?

We start with an idea or mood board, then design custom dice in Blender (3D modeling software), edit fonts for readability and style, print and refine 3D prototypes, and mold and hand-pour each die in resin.
We iterate on each design until it rolls great and looks incredible.

What is your dice-making process?

Once our dice masters are finalized, we mold them in silicone, hand-pour them in epoxy resin, vacuum-degas, pressure-cure, post-cure, sand, polish, paint, quality check, and package them by hand.
This ensures our dice are bubble-free, long-lasting, and beautiful. Post-curing also strengthens the resin, boosting its durability and ensuring your dice are extra resistant to wear, heat, and everyday use.

Will we make more dice shapes in the future?

We love exploring new styles and shapes, and hope to keep creating them — as long as there’s enough support from buyers like you!

Why do some of our dice shapes change over time?

Since our designs are new and unique, we are always improving them based on customer feedback and rigorous playtesting.
For example, our crystal-shaped dice had very sharp tips originally, but we later tapered them slightly to improve comfort when they're used for regular play. Then, in our most recent masters, we added a border around the highest faces of each die as an additional stylistic touch.
